Today we worked the north-south ditch... The gate side of the pasture needed some maintenance...
Guppy quickly put the herd on track...
Bring in the new WeedWhackers...
Emerging Elm, Willow and a variety of weeds are held at bay by the goats...
Keeping access to the floodgates open...
...and helping to keep the bank stabilized...
Elm....Mmmmm...
There are so many ditchbanks (acequias...) in New Mexico in need of frequent maintenance...
...Amazing to think of all the herbicide and man hours spent on large machinery to try to maintain what goats have done successfully in communities for generations...
Time to bring back the community and bring back GOATS.
